That doesn’t mean it’ll be easy – but if you’re drowning in a flood of information overload when it comes to making money online, I’m hoping this ClickBank for Beginners blog post can be your life preserver.

To get started, let’s talk about the general way you’ll make money with ClickBank: affiliate marketing.

What is Affiliate Marketing?

We have a whole Affiliate Marketing 101 guide that goes through affiliate marketing in depth – but in a nutshell, affiliate marketing is a business model where you promote other people’s products on the internet and get paid a commission for each sale.

For example, if you promote an exercise program that sells for $100 and pays a 75% commission to affiliates like you, then you’ll make $75 every time someone buys the product using your special affiliate link.

That’s all there is to it!

We’ll cover more about how this works in a little bit. For now, just stop and think about the fact that you can make money online without EVER having to create a product, manage inventory, or even worry about payment processing.

Pretty cool, right? Here’s how to get started!

How to Start Affiliate Marketing

Affiliate marketing is a great entry point into the brave new world of online business. But still, the internet is a BIG place. Where do you find these products to promote as a new affiliate?

Obviously, there are LOTS of affiliate programs, networks, and marketplaces out there, but ClickBank is one of the top marketplaces for a few key reasons:

  • It’s totally free and quick to join
  • There aren’t any special requirements you have to meet (perfect for beginners!)
  • You can easily filter and sort products in our marketplace to find the right one for you
  • ClickBank does ALL the heavy lifting for you (no need to worry about writing up contracts, tracking down payments, setting up complex tracking, or any other technical stuff)

Our goal is to make it as easy as possible to succeed online. If you’re ready to make some money on ClickBank, let’s sign up for an account together!

Step 1: Sign Up for a ClickBank Account

One of the coolest things about ClickBank is, you can go from ZERO experience to having your first affiliate link in just 15 minutes!

Seriously, go ahead and set a timer! I bet we can get there.

First, you’ll need to sign up for a free ClickBank account. It’s super easy – just go to the signup page and enter your country, name, phone number, email address, and a password!

ClickBank account signup

(If you want more help with signing up, please visit this account signup support article. Or click for a deeper dive into how ClickBank works here.)

Once your account is created, you’re ready to start promoting products and making money. This is where the fun REALLY begins!

Step 2: Find a ClickBank Product to Promote

The ClickBank interface can be a little intimidating at first, so let’s just focus on a few quick things you’ll need to get going.

First of all, after signing up, you’ll land in your main account dashboard. Front and center, you can see any earnings you have for the current week. As you make money with ClickBank, you’ll see this area populate with earnings data across any of the products you’ve sold for ClickBank vendors.

In the sidebar on the left, you can also see links to several other places.

For now, let’s focus on the marketplace – the one with that little store icon.

Or if you go into your own user account from the main dashboard, you can also find the marketplace at the top of the page here:

So, now that we’ve navigated to the ClickBank marketplace, let’s have a look around!

ClickBank affiliate marketplace dashboard
The ClickBank affiliate marketplace is a great way to start affiliate marketing!

The ClickBank affiliate marketplace is actually pretty straightforward, because there’s really only one goal here: finding a product to promote.

And how do you do that? There are two main ways to find a product:

Method 1: In the sidebar on the left, you’ll see a big list of product categories, which then open up into subcategories of different product types. These make it easy to find products based on the niche (or topic) that you’ve chosen for your business.

(Don’t worry if you’re not sure about a niche yet – we’ll cover that in a bit.)

Method 2: Another way to find a good product is to skip the categories and just browse “all products” instead. To do that, hit the little magnifying glass search button at the top to see every marketplace product in a list – by default, the results will be sorted by Rank.

Products listed on the official ClickBank affiliate marketplace.

It’s easy to set filters and other attributes to find products that meet your needs, such as Gravity score, average $/conversion, and date added – plus attributes like whether the product is physical or digital or what language it’s in.

Don’t worry too much about all that for now – it’s just a quick overview of how you’ll be able to search the marketplace for that perfect product.

Now, let’s look at a product listing!

Step 3: Analyze a ClickBank Product Listing

At the time of this writing, the #1 product in the ClickBank marketplace (by Rank) is Okinawa Flat Belly Tonic, a health offer for weight loss.

In this product listing, you’ll see the description of the product, an affiliate page, a support contact, and some key stats.

In addition to the product category, one of the most important points here is the initial $/conversion number of $129.57.

This stat means that EACH time you get a sale, you can expect to earn $130 for a commission. The Flat Belly Tonic product also offers a commission on rebills (when a customer orders the product again), so you can even make residual income from it!

The other major stat we should touch on is the Gravity score (Grav.).

What is Gravity Score?

Every product on the ClickBank marketplace has its own gravity score, but what does this number actually mean?

Here’s our official definition:

The ClickBank Gravity Score is a performance metric used to measure the sales momentum of offers on the ClickBank affiliate marketplace. Over a 12-week rolling period, the ClickBank Gravity Score calculates how many unique affiliates are making commissions on a particular offer, with a higher emphasis on more recent product sales.

In other words, Gravity is a snapshot of how many sales a product has been getting lately, and from how many affiliates. A high Gravity score – like the impressive 132+ we see with Flat Belly Tonic – means it’s on FIRE, with approximately 130 different affiliates getting at least one sale of the product in the last three months!

A high Gravity score proves that the product can convert (ie get sales), but it also indicates a LOT of competition from other affiliates for that same product. You’ll have to decide what level of Gravity is a good fit for your approach as an affiliate – but honestly, when you’re first starting out, it can make sense to pick one with a more modest score in the 20-100 range.

Now that you understand where to find products and what some of these stats mean, it’s time for us to create our first HopLink!

Step 4: Create an Affiliate Tracking Link (HopLink)

As we’ve touched on so far, you get a commission when someone clicks your special tracking link and then purchases a product you’ve promoted. At ClickBank, we call this affiliate tracking URL a “HopLink.”

You’ll need a hoplink to make money with ClickBank as an affiliate. Fortunately, it couldn’t be easier to generate a new link!

In this case, we can make a link for Flat Belly Tonic. All we have to do is hit that big “Promote” button on the product listing.

Quick Side Note: If you’ve been following along up until now and haven’t created an account nickname, you’ll have to do that before you can create a HopLink. Just switch over to your main account dashboard and find the “person” icon shown below.

Create ClickBank account nickname

Then, hit “Create an Account” and enter a new nickname. You can have multiple account nicknames tied to your general ClickBank account, which can be helpful if you want one as a seller and one as an affiliate, for example.

After hitting “Promote,” we’ll see the HopLink Generator for this product. All you have to do is enter your chosen account nickname and an optional Tracking ID (not necessary for now), and then hit the “Create HopLink” button.

The ClickBank HopLink Generator allows you to create affiliate tracking links!

ClickBank’s HopLink Generator will immediately generate a new HopLink that’s tied to your account nickname right below.

The HopLink you generate can be copied and pasted to make you affiliate commissions!

You can easily copy the HopLink by hitting that little button on the right or highlighting and copying the actual text in the field.

And that’s your first HopLink! Way to go!

I usually save my HopLinks in the Notes app on my MacBook Pro so that it’s easy to keep track of them, but don’t worry if you lose track of your special link – you can always go back and generate a new one that will work just the same as your first one.

With a HopLink ready to go, we have one more step before we can make money: getting traffic!

Step 5: Get Traffic to Your Affiliate Link

In the realm of online marketing, “traffic” is a catch-all term referring to a volume of users or site visitors.

The two pieces of any successful online marketing campaign are traffic and conversion:

  1. Traffic gets people where you want them to go!
  2. Conversion moves them from prospects into customers!

So as you can see, getting traffic is VERY important.

The nice thing about being an affiliate is, you only have one job to focus on: sending traffic over to someone else’s sales page. As long as you get the right traffic and pick a high-converting offer, you can make money and without worrying too much about the conversion part!

How to Get Traffic (Free vs Paid!)

Now, the question is: “How do I get traffic?”

Everyone always asks us this question – and it’s probably something you’re wondering too!

Well, there are two main categories of traffic: free and paid.

To understand this, think of a highway with a destination that you’re heading toward. Along the road, you can choose to drive a modest Toyota Corolla that’s affordable and reliable, but slower. Or you can hop into a fancy Ferrari that’s a lot more expensive, but can gets you where you want to go much faster (as long as there aren’t any speed limit signs, of course!).

free traffic or paid traffic example
You decide how to get where you’re going: Free traffic vs paid traffic!

That’s basically the difference between free traffic and paid traffic. They BOTH will move you to the same destination, which is sending users to landing pages containing your affiliate links so they can click through, make a purchase, and earn you a commission.

But which should you choose? It ultimately comes down to personal preference: how fast do you want to get there (and how much money do you want to spend along the way)?

More realistically, you can think about HOW you want to engage with your audience. On the free (organic) side, you’ll probably be creating informative and entertaining content, while the paid side is a lot more about grabbing attention.

There’s no right or wrong answer here. In fact, many of the best marketers choose “all of the above,” because free and paid traffic sources each have their merits! But as a beginner, it can make sense to start with free traffic to build a foundation before moving on to paid sources.

Now, let’s briefly cover a few of these traffic sources you can use to start making affiliate commissions.

3 Examples of Free Traffic

When it comes to free traffic, a better term to describe it is “organic traffic.”

As inexpensive as these sources of traffic are, they aren’t 100% free – but most of what you pay is in time and effort, not money.

Another way to think of free traffic is more “relationship-oriented.” Often, you’re getting traffic through these techniques by building a brand and fostering a community – a two-way relationship with your audience.

Here are the top 3 free traffic sources to be thinking about for your affiliate business!

1) Google search

One of the fundamental “free” sources of traffic is Google search, which you can take advantage of by building an affiliate website or blog. When you do keyword research, you can find both informational and commercial keywords related to the affiliate products you want to promote.

Google search - free traffic source

This approach works much better for narrower niche topics – you’ll have a tough time getting enough organic traffic in a HUGE niche like weight loss to depend on it for your business. But it can still be worthwhile to have a “home base” for your brand, and any amount of organic traffic you don’t have to pay for is a nice bonus!

2) Social media

Another great free source of traffic is social media – think Facebook posts, Facebook Groups, YouTube videos, Pinterest pins, tweets, LinkedIn posts, Reddit threads, Instagram Stories, and so on.

There are so many different social sites where you can get free traffic that it’s difficult to narrow it down sometimes. Here’s my advice: when in doubt, start with Facebook and YouTube. If you do anything where you’re selling to businesses or professionals, add LinkedIn to the mix. If you’re targeting millennials or younger users, consider Instagram, Snapchat, and TikTok.

By producing content for social platforms, you can get in front of your ideal audience – and in many cases, you can post affiliate links there directly!

3) Email

Another fantastic source of free traffic is email marketing.

Your audience knows that subscribing to your email list means they’re going to be sold sometimes – but if you focus on adding insane value to your emails, most people are fine with the occasional pitch.

The challenge with email is building the list in the first place. Obviously, paid ads are a big help here, but if you want to do it for free only, many marketers grow their list with a blog featuring opt-in forms. If you don’t have your own website, a closed Facebook Group in your niche is another great free option, or try adding the subscribe link to your YouTube video descriptions.

You can even use live, in-person events like conferences and trade shows to sign up new people! Learn more about affiliate email marketing here.

And to find out more about the difference sources of free traffic, check out our guide to free traffic here.

3 Examples of Paid Traffic

The counterpart to free traffic is paid traffic.

This is like the Ferrari on the freeway. It has the potential to get you where you want to go a lot faster – as long as you know how to handle it, of course!

To get results with paid ads, you’ll need to spend dollars to get the ads in front of an audience that’s receptive to your message.

Another way to think of paid traffic is more “transaction-oriented.” Often, you’re getting traffic by appearing in someone’s social media feed or before their YouTube video and trying to grab their attention.

For many affiliates, the entire job is crafting ads that get cold traffic to an offer – and trying to make more money in affiliate commissions then they spend on ads. Here are the top 3 paid traffic sources that your affiliate business might use!

Facebook Ads

The holy grail of paid ads is still Facebook, though it’s not without its fair share of headaches, such as your ads manager account getting shut down or your ad getting denied. This has been happening to six and seven figure media buyers as well!

On the plus side, Facebook has a massive user base, tons of data, sophisticated AI, and strong tracking tools through the Pixel. Facebook Ads allow you to micro-target a set of users with a highly specific offer. These days, it’s also common to set up an affiliate bridge page to route your cold Facebook traffic.

Native Ads

Native ad networks like Taboola and Outbrain have really taken off in the last few years, and for good reason: they give you a lot of the benefits of a platform like Facebook, but without a lot of the problems.

So, what are native ads? A native ad is a display ad that appears on a website and blends in with the other content on the page. When a user clicks it, they’re taken to your content.

Because native ads are displayed on popular websites instead of on a central social media platform (like Facebook), you have more leeway in your choice of messaging, creative, and landing page. It’s also a beginner-friendly option for getting into the world of media buying.

YouTube Ads

YouTube Ads are a solid way to build your YouTube channel or bring an engaged audience into your email list.

There are different types of ads on YouTube, so you’ll want to play around with them to find the format that’s best for you. For pre-roll ads, you should make sure your messaging is front-loaded and can hook viewers in the first 5 seconds.

Discovery ads are another good option – they can work well once you see which of your videos the audience is engaging with the most. Then, create subscriber magnets by seeing which of your videos perform the best, and paying to appear in relevant search terms to grow your audience.

How to Promote Your HopLink

So, you’ve gotten a nice overview of different free and paid traffic opportunities, but where should you start with your affiliate link strategy? It’s easy to feel overwhelmed!

To be honest, ALL of these ideas are perfectly doable, so don’t feel like you can make a “wrong” choice.

But with that said, the consensus among most experts within the ClickBank community is to start out with either organic OR paid traffic – not both. And if you have the expertise and bandwidth, consider building an email list alongside those efforts from day one.

First, you need to decide on a decent offer in the marketplace, probably somewhere from page 1 to page 3, then choose a single platform for generating organic or paid traffic (and optionally, an email service provider), and THEN focus on making that offer and marketing strategy work for 3-6 months before you make a change!

You’ll learn a LOT about what works and what doesn’t if you give it enough time. Nobody masters marketing overnight!

Step 6: Monitor Your Metrics

By now, you’ve chosen a traffic source and are pointing it at your tracking link (HopLink), which is hosted on an affiliate bridge page or landing page.

As an affiliate marketer, your next job is to collect data as soon as you start sending traffic through your landing page and your tracking link. You should start looking at some specific numbers that tell the story of what’s working.

These metrics will help you decide which methods (and offers) are worth investing your time and money in.

And naturally, the FIRST place to look for metrics is the traffic source(s) you’re using!

Metrics for Email

For email, you can track key performance indicators (KPIs) like:

  • Open rate
  • Clickthrough rate
  • Click rate
  • Unsubscribe rate
affiliate email marketing metrics

These numbers help you see how an individual email performed in driving traffic to an offer.

If you had to pick one of these that’s most important, I would go with the clickthrough rate, because it shows how much engagement your emails are getting. You want this to be the best possible.

Over time, you’ll establish a benchmark for how your emails tend to perform – and can continue to test new subject lines and content angles to beat your previous best. You can even segment your lists to drive highly targeted offers to different audiences!

Metrics for Facebook

For Facebook Ads, you’ll look at metrics like cost per click (CPC) and conversion rate. The main goal with Facebook is to get more clicks to your landing page at the lowest possible price, and secondarily, for the landing page to route people over to the offer.

Metrics for Facebook

A good paid ads campaign involves a lot of testing and optimizing to ensure you’re using the most effective headline, copy, and creative for a given audience.

Overall Affiliate Marketing Metrics

Obviously, traffic source numbers are good topline metrics to monitor to see how things are performing, but the most important affiliate marketing metrics are about your bottom line:

  • Earnings per click. The earnings per click (EPC) is a powerful metric for evaluating how much money you make – on average – for every click to a sales page. You can find this by dividing the amount of total sales by the total number of clicks on your tracking link to an offer. One reason this is helpful is because media buyers tend to measure their costs per click – so EPC is a quick way to compare the two numbers and see if you’re coming out ahead.
  • Refund/chargeback rate. It’s not as much fun to talk about, but if you’re promoting products through the revenue share (RevShare) model, then you split the income generated from each sale with the seller – and you’ll BOTH return that income whenever a customer asks for a refund or initiates a chargeback. If your refunds and chargebacks are high (say 5%+), then you either need to pick a different offer or send more relevant traffic to the offer, or change the expectations you’re setting in your content or ad creatives.
  • Total net earnings. How much money are you making overall, and how much do you keep after expenses? It’s easy to see total income right in the ClickBank dashboard, but you should account for your expenses to make sure you’re staying profitable.

With your eye on these metrics, you have the ability to double down on what’s working and pivot when something isn’t.

Honestly, data is the ultimate scorecard for your affiliate business, and it’s what separates the the elite affiliates from the average ones. Going back to our car metaphor, imagine driving down the freeway blind – you won’t even know if you’ve reached your destination that way!

Use data to make informed decisions in your business. Be prepared to test and optimize your campaigns. And don’t be afraid to scrap everything and try something new!

Step 7: Pivot or Double Down on Your Campaigns

Over time, it’ll be clear how successful your campaigns are – if you’re making MORE money than you spend, that’s a sign that things are working!

Seems pretty obvious.

But what if you’re NOT profitable yet? This could mean you need to do more testing and fine-tuning, or it could mean that you need go all the way back to the drawing board!

For most campaigns, it’s almost impossible to tell if it’s worked until you’ve sent traffic through and done some testing and optimizing along the way. For paid campaigns, that might be 10-14 days – for an SEO or organic strategy, it could be 6-12 months!

There’s no easy answer here, but if you approach it methodically, you’ll be able to figure out where the problem lies.

In any affiliate marketing sales funnel, your prospects go through several stages (commonly referred to as AIDA):

  • Attention. Reach prospective buyers where they are through SEO, social media, paid ads, YouTube, etc. In this stage, you make them aware of your brand or offer.
  • Interest. Point visitors toward valuable content that explains a problem, while subtly nudging them toward the solutions you want them to know about. This could be a bridge page, landing page, blog post, YouTube video, etc.
  • Desire. Use emotion in your messaging to directly build up a strong desire for the product you’re promoting. You need to paint the picture of why your audience can’t live without this solution.
  • Action. Call on your audience to buy now (or opt in, etc.). This includes follow-ups via email or retargeting ads.

I bring up this funnel concept because you need to make sure your campaign is tracking along with these stages. Many affiliates jump too quickly from attention to action (ie “Nice to meet you… want to buy something?”).

If any stage in your sales funnel is leaky, you’ll lose traffic along the way – and you’ll have to decide whether to fix those stages of the buyer’s journey that aren’t working, or totally start over with a new niche or offer!

Be Aware of Different Affiliate “Levels”

Now that we’ve covered the 7 steps you need to know to succeed on ClickBank as a beginner, I want to point out something important…

There are different “levels” of affiliates.

In other words, what works best when you’re starting out isn’t necessarily what’s best at a higher level.

For example, many six-figure affiliates are media buyers on platforms like Facebook – they buy hundreds of thousands or millions of dollars in paid ads to promote an offer “at scale.” And because they’re doing something at such a massive scale, they care a LOT about details like an offer’s commission rate, average order value, and refund rate. They also pay close attention to their own metrics, especially earnings per click (EPC), to make sure their efforts are turning a profit.

On the other hand, a beginner may have the luxury of promoting a product that’s less of a sure thing, because they don’t have a serious budget on the line. Focusing on free traffic sources gives you options.

I tell you all this because you may come across gurus or advice out there that recommend massive media buys as the be-all and end-all for affiliate marketing – and who knows, maybe it is – but you may not be there yet!

In order to level up your knowledge and be able to play the affiliate game at the highest tier, you need a top-notch marketing education first.

If you haven’t checked it out yet, the ClickBank team is leveling the playing field for new affiliates with Spark, an education platform that’s designed to take you from beginner to expert in affiliate marketing!

ClickBank for Beginners Conclusion and Next Steps

Congratulations! You’ve made it through the whole “ClickBank for Beginners” guide, and you’re well on your way to affiliate marketing success.

Now, remember how I promised you’d know exactly what to do? Here’s my advice.

  1. Find one niche to start in. (Even if it’s only for practice.) You can just go back to the ClickBank marketplace and browse the categories to find a niche and product that looks interesting to you. For a starting point, you might check out our best affiliate marketing niches post or our monthly top products post to see what’s doing well and why!
  2. Pick 2-3 traffic sources, max. If you’re new to online marketing, I’d start with a lower-risk traffic source like a blog or organic social and slowly ease into paid ads (such as native, YouTube, or Facebook). Start with a low spend and wait to scale until you really get the hang of it. Build a nice mix of owned and paid media for a stronger foundation for your business.
  3. Become an expert. Give your new plan at least 3-6 months, with the focus on learning at first. Try to get familiar with one combination of audience, niche, and traffic source REALLY well!

That’s all there is to it – at least at first.

Over time, you’ll want to diversify by niche and traffic source as your business matures, but everyone has to start somewhere. Don’t try to do everything at once – get REALLY good at a few things first!

Lastly, to stay up-to-date on affiliate marketing news and updates, I recommend the following as well:

  1. Subscribe to our email newsletter to receive weekly articles like this one.
  2. Subscribe to the ClickBank YouTube channel for advanced affiliate marketing and ecommerce insights every Monday and Wednesday.
  3. Check out Spark by ClickBank for a step-by-step affiliate training catered to both free and paid traffic channels. Find the strategy that’s right for you!
  4. Speed up your affiliate success with the right tools, including ClickBank’s all-in-one landing page builder, ClickBank Accelerator.

Now, as exciting as your destination might be, it’s the affiliate marketing journey that’s most rewarding.

You have a bright future as an affiliate ahead of you, and ClickBank will be here to help along the way!

For now, we wish you good luck! All that’s left to do is dream big and take MASSIVE action.

It’s specifically built for ClickBank affiliates who want to promote ClickBank offers and run affiliate traffic, as well as for sellers in the space. Use ClickBank Accelerator to find affiliate success faster than ever!

But I’m getting ahead of myself. In this ClickBank Accelerator review for 2024, I want to talk about what Accelerator is, why ClickBank created it, and how it can help both affiliates and sellers to create affiliate marketing landing pages, blogs, websites, and funnels with ease and find success more quickly.

Of course, I need to say that ClickBank owns and manages ClickBank Accelerator, along with the affiliate education platform, Spark by ClickBank – and I personally work with the team behind these products.

So, while I’ll do my best to offer an unbiased look at the program, my proximity to Accelerator is something to keep in mind. Now, let’s dive into the review!

What is ClickBank?

In case you’re not too familiar with ClickBank, I briefly want to touch on what ClickBank is and what we do. ClickBank is an affiliate marketplace and e-commerce platform that helps connect sellers (i.e. people or brands with their own products to sell) and affiliates (i.e. marketers looking to promote products in exchange for a commission on each sale they generate).

ClickBank marketplace 2023

There’s a thriving world of online business that you can be a part of on ClickBank – either by selling your own product or by earning a commission when you sell other people’s products. A lot of everyday people don’t even know about the incredible opportunities online – or if they do, they’re not sure how to make affiliate marketing work for them!

So, if you’re new to this “affiliate marketing” thing and want to get started faster? That’s where Accelerator comes in!

What is ClickBank Accelerator?

ClickBank Accelerator is a new affiliate marketing funnel builder that’s perfect for ClickBank affiliates and sellers.

It’s an all-in-one tool featuring a “custom funnel generator” that you go through while onboarding to create an entire funnel around your use case (affiliate or seller), your chosen niche, and your expected traffic source.

Essentially, Accelerator suggests what your funnel should look like, which is super helpful when you’re new to affiliate marketing or just want to get going quickly. The resulting page or blog will come preloaded with images, colors, and layouts that are ready for you to customize and launch!

The other key feature is that it comes with all the affiliate tools you would use in one place. You can build, launch, and manage your funnels, blogs, and websites from one platform, and you can set up opt-in forms, capture email addresses, connect automations, tag/organize your leads, connect custom domains, and send out emails to a list – all within the same platform.

It even has the option for pre-built funnels and pre-written email sequences for the latest top offers on ClickBank!

How do Accelerator and ClickBank work together?

Accelerator and ClickBank are a powerful combination! ClickBank’s marketplace gives you free access to a wide range of quality affiliate products you can go promote to earn affiliate commissions, and Accelerator allows you to capitalize on your chosen traffic source by easily creating the pages, posts, and emails you need.

ClickBank is a popular affiliate marketplace that’s been a leader in the space for more than 25 years. The marketplace looks like this:

With ClickBank, you can quickly find quality, high-converting affiliate products in more than 20+ categories and dozens of subcategories. When you see an offer that looks good, you just hit the “Promote” button and instantly generate a unique affiliate tracking link (known as a HopLink on ClickBank) that you can place online to start earning commissions!

Where Accelerator comes in is helping you execute on your affiliate marketing efforts, building those landing pages, bridge pages, email sequences, blogs, and websites where you can place your affiliate links online!

Accelerator is flexible enough to support whatever path is best for you, with a Custom Funnel Generator that can give you a huge head start based on your chosen niche and traffic source.

Ultimately, ClickBank makes it super easy to get credit for the affiliate sales you generate and get paid – and Accelerator helps you turn your affiliate marketing ideas into reality!

ClickBank Accelerator in Action

Before we dive too far into the what’s, how’s, and why’s of ClickBank Accelerator, I want to talk about my own experience using the tool.

My initial impressions testing the product are that it does exactly what it promises, in that you can very quickly take a template for a certain style of landing page (such as a video presell, text presell, advertorial, etc.) and create your own version in less time!

In fact, I recently participated in a “10-minute challenge” with a few other ClickBank experts to build a landing page in under 10 minutes using Accelerator.

The 10 Minute Funnel Building Challenge

The idea behind our “10 Minute Challenge” was to see if we could build an affiliate landing page in 10 minutes or less using Accelerator.

Spoiler alert: the answer was (mostly) yes! I personally have a lot of prior experience working with WordPress and a few other page builders, so I’m not a total beginner, but I’m also not a web designer by any means – and I was still able to build a landing page for a lead magnet funnel quickly and easily in Accelerator!

I encourage you to see what it was like for us to build different types of landing pages for different traffic sources using ClickBank Accelerator:

Now, I’ll admit, the UI in Accelerator can be a little confusing in places, and I don’t love that it sometimes has to refresh the entire page after you make changes. But once you learn where everything is and get used to a few quirks, the tool is thankfully super easy to use.

And in my opinion, the best thing about it is that you may never need to build a page from scratch in Accelerator. By using the Custom Funnel Generator and our pre-built templates based on the funnels of ClickBank’s most successful affiliates, you can start out 80-90% of the way towards whatever page or funnel you’re looking to build!

Why Should You Use ClickBank Accelerator?

There’s a simple reason why ClickBank Accelerator is a solid value for most affiliates: it gives you all the functionality you need in one simple tool for an affordable monthly price.

By combining a lot of common affiliate software – a landing page builder, CRM software, email service provider, web host, and funnel builder – into one tool called Accelerator, the ClickBank team has made it so you can save a ton of money on the essential tools you need to succeed online.

Now, if you’re an advanced affiliate or seller, Accelerator may not have the depth of features to replace every one of these different tools for you – but for most people, Accelerator is more than enough. Assuming your goal is to do affiliate marketing on ClickBank or a similar platform, then you may only need to stand up a simple landing page or two, so any extra bells and whistles just add complexity and get in the way!

Accelerator isn’t overly fancy – at least, not yet – but it’s basically the perfect tool for affiliates and sellers who need a way to build pages and funnels without a lot of hassle.

Top Features of ClickBank Accelerator

So, what exactly does this “all-in-one” funnel builder do? Here are the 6 top features in Accelerator that you need to know about:

1) Landing page building

Create affiliate-specific landing pages that effectively convert cold traffic into buyers.

2) Funnel building

Easily build multi-step funnels to seamlessly guide your leads through each step of the buying journey and increase conversions.

3) Email marketing

Send targeted emails and leverage email automation to continue to market to your audience and boost sales.

4) Contact management

Keep track of your leads all in one place with a simple tagging contact management system.

5) Analytics

Gain valuable insights into your funnel’s performance and make data-driven decisions to increase your commissions.

6) Done-for-you templates

Get started quickly with the templates that thousands of successful affiliates are already using for their landing pages, funnels, and email campaigns.

ClickBank Accelerator Pros and Cons

Okay, I’ve covered what Accelerator is and how to use it. Now, I want to touch on the biggest pros and cons of this tool over others you might choose to use as an affiliate or seller.

Accelerator Pros:

  • Cost-Effective and Comprehensive Affiliate Software:
    • An affordable platform for affiliates: In an industry where each software tool can take a big bite out of your budget, ClickBank Accelerator stands out with its affordable pricing model of under $50 per month. Whether you choose Accelerator’s monthly plan or the 6-month bundle, you’re getting a great deal.
    • Get the functionality you need all in one place: The hassle of integrating various platforms can be overwhelming and costly. Accelerator’s combined features of landing page building, funnel creation, email marketing, and CRM means fewer subscriptions and a smoother workflow.
  • Ease of Implementation:
    • The tool comes with pre-built templates: Thanks to a diverse range of ready-to-use templates and the game-changing Custom Funnel Generator, Accelerator makes it super easy to get started. These pre-built resources dramatically reduce the time from coming up with an idea to being able to execute on it.
    • You’ll enjoy guided funnel creation: If you’re unfamiliar with how to construct a successful funnel, the onboarding step gives you guided assistance, recommending the right funnel, colors, and page layout based on key criteria like niche and traffic source.
  • User-Friendly For Non-Techies:
    • You don’t need to code or design: Accelerator’s drag-and-drop features and intuitive design mean that even without a technical background, you can construct professional-looking pages.
    • It’s easy to learn and use: Although there are some UI quirks, once you’ve gotten comfortable in the tool, you can launch landing pages, email campaigns, and other marketing assets.

Accelerator Cons:

  • Limited Advanced Features:
    • The tool may be too simple for some users: While ClickBank Accelerator is proficient in its offerings, those looking for intricate features in email marketing or detailed analytics might find it lacking compared to specialized tools.
    • The templates may have limitations: The platform’s focus on ease might limit customization options for someone who wants to create totally original pages.
  • The User Interface Isn’t Perfect:
    • Unexpected Icons: As I mentioned before, certain icons like the magnifying glass for adding an image can be non-intuitive. Improving these little quirks will make the user experience better.
    • Page Refreshes: The occasional need to automatically refresh the page after making modifications can be a hiccup in the workflow, especially when you want to work quickly.
  • Lack of Marketing Education:
    • The tool’s training mostly focuses on how to use Accelerator: While Accelerator is a robust tool for creating and managing marketing assets like landing pages and funnels, it doesn’t really tell you how to build an effective landing page or promote products to your audience.
    • Affiliate education is available elsewhere. ClickBank does offer in-depth courses in Spark by ClickBank to provide that foundational affiliate education, but it would be nice to see more education or tutorials included in Accelerator (especially for customers who are new to affiliate marketing).

What Customers Are Saying About Accelerator

A lot of people have found a lot to like about ClickBank Accelerator!

Bryan L said:

And we received a video from one Accelerator user, Alex, who’s done digital marketing for over a decade and used a lot of page builders throughout his career. Here’s what he had to say:

We’ve had plenty of other positive feedback from customers, but it mostly boils down to the same key point: “Accelerator helped me get going on my affiliate marketing business fast and start making sales!”

ClickBank Accelerator Pricing

Good news: the pricing for ClickBank Accelerator is really simple!

You can sign up for a monthly subscription of $47/mo and get access to ALL of the features I’ve talked about, from landing page and funnel building to email automation and contact management.

Or you can get a 6-month bundle of Accelerator for one payment of $197, which is essentially getting an extra two months for free!

ClickBank Accelerator Review: The Verdict

So, what’s the bottom line? Is it yay or nay on Accelerator?

Well, if you’re a beginner or intermediate affiliate, I would absolutely recommend trying ClickBank Accelerator. Whether it’s a good fit for you ultimately depends on your traffic source and how complex your use case is – but if you’re still pretty new to affiliate marketing and want a single tool that can give you all the features you need to build your affiliate business, then Accelerator just might be the ideal choice!

While Accelerator’s UI is currently a little rough around the edges, the ClickBank team is continuing to polish up Accelerator and add quality of life features. In the meantime, you can save a lot of money compared to what you’d spend on other funnel builders like ClickFunnels, plus prominent software in categories like like ESPs, CRMs, and more – and you still get everything you need to succeed as an affiliate!

Now, if you’re a seller on ClickBank, I still recommend Accelerator as an easy way to set up your sales page, affiliate tools page, and other common pages! But whether it’s worth it to you depends on your priorities.

Many sellers with a direct response offer will choose to custom code their sales pages in HTML to ensure the fastest possible loading speed – and while Accelerator is fairly lightweight, it’s still a landing page builder. On the other hand, if you (1) don’t have the resources to code all of your pages by hand; (2) just want to be able to get something built quickly; or (3) are interested in the robust funnel-building that Accelerator provides, then Accelerator is still a great choice to look at!

I hope this review helped you get to know more about the product and decide if it’s a good fit for you. Again, Accelerator is still a really new funnel builder product, but it’s already helping ClickBank affiliates and sellers make sales and find more success, especially in tandem with the affiliate training inside of Spark by ClickBank.

How to Define Your Personal Brand as a Content Creator https://www.clickbank.com/blog/how-to-define-your-personal-brand/ Fri, 10 May 2024 14:30:00 +0000 https://www.clickbank.com/?p=36380 What’s up, guys? I’m Keely with ClickBank.

If this is our first time (virtually) meeting, hello! I’m the Social Media Manager here at ClickBank and I have been a content creator myself for the last 8 years!

I know how important having a personal brand is as a content creator and I want to talk to you about how to find and define your own. Let’s do it!

Defining My Personal Brand

First, let me tell you a bit about my content creator journey, so that you understand where I’m coming from. Context is everything, and it helps a lot as we go through this journey together to find and define your personal brand as a content creator!

In 2016, I started traveling A LOT! It was always my goal to travel once I graduated High School, so with nothing but a plan and some money I had saved, I started going on adventures! I started small, weekend trips to bigger cities like Seattle or Denver. I started blogging about my travels and posting about it on social media and it really took off!

At first, it was mostly family and friends supporting my journey, but slowly my brand as a local “traveler” grew! I dedicated hours and hours each week to writing for my blog and even had a few smaller brands start working with me to promote their products. I had monetized my blog and I was stoked!

In 2017, as a 19-year-old, I decided to take a solo trip to Europe. Of course, I blogged, vlogged, and social media-d the whole thing. It was incredible to be able to share that journey and my love for creating content about my adventures really sky-rocketed.

I continued traveling for the next three years. From Australia, to the fast streets of New York, and everywhere in-between, I was sharing my journey along the way.

Then, in 2020, the world stopped and travel shut down. Who I was and what I did for a “brand” was suddenly stripped from me. I tried to pivot solely to home and lifestyle but it just didn’t land. It wasn’t what my audience was looking for and frankly, my heart wasn’t in it. My brand was so much more than that and you could tell in the content I was creating. It was a flop.

So I had to turn inward and really define who I was as a person and as a content creator. What did I want to do, and how did I want to speak to my audience? I took a look at all of the things I loved and figured out a few things.

  1. I really love adventuring. It didn’t necessarily have to be grandiose adventures, but any adventure, big or small.
  2. I loved moving & exercise. Whenever I traveled, I shared a lot of movement and wellness tips along the way. This was something I was equally as passionate about.
  3. My audience enjoyed my travel and my movement content. How could I combine this into something that was my personal brand?

Well to answer the last question, let’s start to break down a few things…

If you’re a content creator already, whether you’re a podcaster, blogger, vlogger, or social media guru, one thing that will keep you and your content on track is having a personal brand you can stick to. This will help you with finding sponsors, becoming an ambassador for certain brands, and digging into different affiliate marketing niches to be able to monetize your audience.

There’s a TON of different generic “brands” you can dig into, but at the end of the day, you have to be able to answer the question, “Who am I? What message do I want to put out into the world?” As a content creator, this will be one of your biggest guiding lights as you continue to post content and grow yourself as a brand.

Having a personal brand has helped me IMMENSELY as I continue to generate content. From being able to determine what brands I don’t want to work with, to finding companies that align with who I am and what I believe in, it is truly the guiding force in what I create and how I promote to my audience.

What Is Your Personal Brand?

Okay, I’ve mentioned a personal brand quite a few times now, but I haven’t actually defined what a personal brand is. Having a personal brand is simply the idea of defining and posting/promoting what you believe in and stand for as an individual. How do you want to live your life, what do you want to share with your audience, and how do you want to monetize based on those decisions?

I’ll use my own example that I shared above. After a nice pivot, some internal thinking, journaling, idea jotting, I felt I had finally nailed down my personal brand: I was an adventure/travel/outdoor enthusiast with a passion for exercise and fitness and tying the two together. I stood for things like wellness, sustainable travel items, and anything that helped keep me moving while I was on the go.

This became my guiding light and has helped me find sponsors, affiliate brands, and ambassadorships to work for that have helped me monetize my audience and promote and talk about the things that matter to ME. It truly makes all the difference in the world.

Why Do You Need a Personal Brand?

Now, I’m not trying to give any of you an existential crisis. This isn’t a “who am I” deep, philosophical journey. (Although it CAN be if you want it to be!) It’s simply taking the small step of defining who you are as a content creator – and how you’ll speak to your audience.

So don’t stress if you don’t want to be put in a box. Trust me, I don’t either. But I DO want to know the best way to speak to my audience as a content creator online!

I think it’s super important to have a personal brand for a number of reasons. Here are my top 3!

1) Doing Your Research

First and foremost, it helps you with research.

For me, my audience is outdoors/travel people and exercise/fitness people. This means that I can do research on other influencers in these two arenas to find out how they’re targeting their audience and how I can do the same.

It also helps me to find relevant content, influencers, brands, and ambassadors to team up with to create really amazing cross-promotional content as well.

2) Understanding Your Audience

In addition to research, defining your brand helps you know how to talk to your audience, which is arguably one of the most important parts of being a content creator.

I want to be able to truly connect to each person in my audience and create something that resonates with them. If I can’t do that, I’m failing at the thing I’m trying to do.

3) Creating Better Content

Knowing my personal brand helps direct the content I’m making. If I start posting makeup tutorials, that’s not going to line up with my personal brand.

On the other hand, If I make yoga videos or hiking videos, that’s going to align much better with the message I’m putting out to the world on my social media as a “nano-influencer.”

4) Monetizing Your Brand

Having a personal brand also ties directly into being able to monetize on your platforms. A lot of times, ambassadorships, brands, sponsorships, and affiliate programs expect you to have a specific niche or audience that you’re speaking to or speaking about.

When you have your personal brand defined, you already know your niche and your audience, which makes monetizing your audience on the content creator platform of your choice that much easier.

Especially in the affiliate marketing world, the last thing you want to do as an organic content creator is start promoting products that won’t land with your audience. Knowing your niche and really digging into that is what is going to be the best course of action if you take up affiliate marketing as a side hustle.

What Are The Benefits of a Personal Brand?

When I was lost in limbo as a content creator, I was promoting ANYTHING that came my way. I even promoted some different kinds of ranch dressings… hoping for something to land. And to be honest, the dressings weren’t even that good.

I was totally lost, seriously! I had to really dig inward and find what was going to stick because it certainly wasn’t salad dressings.

When I started posting more content about movement, different outdoor brands, and adventure hardwear like backpacks, suddenly, my content was sticking again! It was literally a night and day difference and I felt back to my old self. No longer was I stuck doing photoshoots with salad dressing bottles in my backyard, hoping for a quick buck. I was able to really dive into gear brands and apparel brands that resonated with ME and my lifestyle, and therefore resonated with my audience.

Not to mention, there’s a ton of other amazing benefits of having your personal brand defined, besides not having to post about salad dressings. (No hate to those who do – that’s just not ME. But if it is YOU, that’s great!)

Having your own personal brand also helps to set you apart. It demonstrates your abilities and special skills. Think of it as having a really precise resume with exactly the qualifications you need for the job. A brand highlights the best parts of who you are as a person and helps establish credibility in your content and as a creator to your audience.

In addition, it helps with real connection. You know how it feels to see someone online who’s totally faking it for views or likes. There’s no real connection there. But that doesn’t have to be you! You can connect with your audience because you know who you are and what you want to promote!

You have your brand, and that’s your guiding light!

Defining Your Personal Brand as a Content Creator

We’ve seen some reasons WHY to create your personal brand and I’ve shared my own example, but now it’s time to truly define the term “personal brand” and look at what that means.

I graduated with a degree in marketing, with certifications in communications, social media marketing, and entrepreneurship. One of the first rules of entrepreneurship and building a business is defining your business’s goals, brand, and mission. As a content creator, think of yourself as an entrepreneur, because that’s what you are, truly!

Defining your personal brand as a content creator means building an effective brand that allows you to sell yourself, in true entrepreneurial spirit. Basically, it means identifying who you are, your goals, your mission, and what you’re delivering to the world. It’s how you present yourself to the world on the internet, whether your content is through blogging, vlogging, social media, or podcasting. It helps you to reach your goals as a professional on the internet!

How you use and apply your personal brand is ultimately what allows you to monetize your audience, create meaningful and impactful content, and grow as a content creator. It is what keeps you on the path to growth and success!

How to Create a Personal Brand

I’ve told you the why, the what. Now it’s time for the how. Let’s put this concept into action and go through the nitty gritty of creating a personal brand!

  1. First, you need to set goals. This is going to guide you through the rest of the steps to creating your brand. Your goals are everything. For me, I set goals based on the kind of life I wanted to live, the kind of content I was willing to promote, and the types of brands I wanted to work with. Take some time here to really decide for yourself; what do I want to come out of this? What will make me feel happy? What will make me feel like I’ve reached success?
  2. Next, it’s time to audit yourself. This is where you look internally and assess your current existing brand. This is the perfect time to decide what works for you, what doesn’t, and what you want to expand upon.
  3. Once you’ve done your personal audit, research some niches you’re interested in. Maybe you’re really into pet products, but not sure what other influencers and content creators are in this area. Now is the perfect time to research, assess, and take note of the other competitors and fellow creators in your niche(s) of choice.
  4. The next step is defining your audience. This one is huge as it will guide a lot of your decisions. Who do you want to be speaking to? And how to they like to engage? What is the overall demographic of the people who would be engaging with and seeing your content? The more details about your audience, the better you can connect with them once you start creating content.
  5. After that, I like to create a mission statement. This doesn’t have to be extravagant, just something that keeps you on the right track. This is very personal to you and how you choose to live your life and create your content.
  6. Then, it’s time to decide on your brand and stick with it. Let this guide you in all of your content creation, audience monetization, and everything in between!
  7. Finally, it’s time to take all of this information, including what your personal brand is, and create a strategy and start building out your content. For more information on that process, check out my other resource where I break down how to create affiliate marketing reels, shorts, and TikToks. It should point you in the right direction of creating your content if you’re looking to create on social media.
    • I make reels like this a lot, using a trending sound, some in-app editing, and a good descriptor with my tags to the different brands I use!

How to Make Reels and Shorts for Affiliate Marketing: 5 Quick Tips! https://www.clickbank.com/blog/how-to-make-reels-and-shorts-for-affiliate-marketing/ Wed, 14 Feb 2024 15:34:00 +0000 https://www.clickbank.com/?p=34574 A great way to get started as an affiliate is by creating content on social media! Social media has so much untapped potential and is an amazing way to grow your reach.

I’m Keely, the social media manager here at ClickBank; I create and post a lot of the short-form video content for the ClickBank brand. I also do my own affiliate marketing through my personal social media channels with video content!

Social media channels are the wild west of content creation, with fast-moving trends, new types of content to create, and nearly unlimited ability to reach people in all corners of the world. That’s why social media content creation is so great as an affiliate!

One of the best types of content, with the greatest capacity for reach, is the short-form video. Creating videos for social media can feel daunting and like a lot of work. However, there are many very simple, easy, and fun ways to make video content on social media that allow you to reach your niche’s audience in a new way!

Let’s chat about how to make reels and shorts for affiliate marketing! (Below is a short video breakdown you can check out on our Instagram!)

How Short-Form Videos Work

Short-form videos on platforms like TikTok and Instagram work differently than YouTube. These are bite-sized bits of information that people engage with – and these videos quickly tell the story or get your message across. With short-form videos, you have to be able to easily condense information to be delivered in under 3 minutes on TikTok and under 1:30 on Instagram, and make that content easy to consume!

In a world where people can easily scroll past, making your videos engaging and worth watching to your viewers can be a challenge. That challenge can be bypassed with videos that capture attention and tell a great story!

NOTE: If you want to get started with TikTok, we have a TikTok affiliate marketing guide for you!

Or if you want to get started with Instagram, check out our Instagram affiliate marketing guide.

How to Set Up Your Instagram and TikTok Accounts

If you’re here, you’ve probably already created your TikTok and Instagram accounts. But if you haven’t, let’s do a quick outline of how to create your Instagram and TikTok channels for affiliate marketing!

For Instagram, you can head to Instagram.com or download the app on your phone. Click the “Sign-Up” button, input your email, create a password for yourself, and come up with a unique username. You want your username to be applicable to your niche and to you – something that is unique to you and your interests is great!

For example, if I’m within the health niche, and I wanted to reach an audience that is interested in supplements for their health, I might pick a username like “HealthWithKeely” or “StayWellKeely”. You can use an Instagram name generator like this one to find a username that fits to you and your niche. Once you’ve done that, add a great biography that embodies yourself and your niche so when people come to your page, they know what to expect.

For TikTok, you can head to TikTok.com or download the app on your phone. Click the “Sign-Up” button, input your email or phone number, create a password for yourself, and come up with a unique username. If you’ve already set-up your Instagram account, you can try to use the same username, if it’s available! Add your biography, and you’re ready to start making content!

Once you’ve created your Instagram and TikTok pages, make sure to create a link-in-bio to add to the links section of your profile. Here’s an example from ClickBank’s Instagram:

Your link-in-bio should include the tracking link to one or more affiliate products you’re promoting, which will get more free traffic over to the vendor’s sale page and generate more sales. Your link-in-bio almost acts as a sort of online store to host your products. Use your tracking links throughout your content!

5 Tips on How to Make Reels for Affiliate Marketing

Now that your accounts are set up, it’s time to follow 5 simple steps to find success with shorts and reels for affiliate marketing. You’ve got this!

1) Research Your Niche

The first thing you need to do is start researching your niche. If you’re unsure what your niche is or how to find one, check out this reel on finding your niche for affiliate marketing.

Once you’ve got that sorted, it’s time to start researching what other people in your niche are doing. It’s always super helpful to know what message they are giving to their audience and how you can speak to that audience in a different way. At the beginning of your content creation journey, research is everything!

Let’s take our above example of being in the health niche. I would start by finding other content creators that post within that niche, whether that’s with multivitamins, supplements, or exercise, and take stock of what those content creators are doing. How do they speak to their audience? What kind of content do they post that performs well or receives a lot of engagement? How often do they post? Write down lots of notes and top takeaways during your initial research.

Next, take some time to find an influencer or two within your niche. They are great examples of how they’re targeting their content and what kind of products, links, podcasts, news, and other types of media your audience enjoys.

Once you’ve looked into other content creators in your niche, it’s time to figure out WHO your audience is. With this example, my audience is probably going to be women from ages 20-35 who are into exercise, fitness, and nutrition.

They watch reels that have to do with exercise and taking care of their body, they repost inspirational quotes, and they engage with other fitness people and influencers. Therefore, I’m going to want to implement a lot of exercise, fitness, nutrition, and inspirational posts into the type of content I’m creating.

Next, you’re going to want to do plenty of research on the products within your niche that you want to sell as an affiliate. How would it benefit your audience and why would they want to indulge in your products? If I’m selling multi-vitamins to my audience, what benefits do those multi-vitamins provide to their daily goals and lifestyle – or how would these multi-vitamins alleviate their biggest pain points?

Once you’ve gathered all the research you can, from competitor research to consumer analysis, it’s time to begin implementing all of your research into a content creation plan that works for you and your niche!

2) Create Your Content

Okay, it’s time to start creating your content for making TikToks and reels for affiliate marketing!

First, you’re gonna want to decide how often you want to post. Some things to consider are your niche, your audience, and what messages you want to put out into the world. You can use all your research to make the most educated decision on this. It’s super helpful to put together a content calendar to help you stay on track with your posting schedule.

Your content calendar should include dates for when you want your reels and TikTok videos to go out, what the copy will be, what kind of post it is, and if you have a call-to-action on the post and what that call-to-action is. Using a content calendar as an affiliate marketer is one of the easiest ways to create reels and stay on top of your content creation.

You don’t want to worry about boosting your sales YET. That should be your overall goal, of course; but your main goal at first is simply to grow your audience to find the people who are interested in your product.

In fact, one of ClickBank’s most successful social media affiliates is TikTok star Brett Boles – he built up his audience for 2.5 years before he started monetizing it with affiliate products on ClickBank. You probably won’t need to wait THAT long, but it’s a good reminder of how important content quality is in growing your audience and building a trustworthy relationship with them!

I highly recommend using a content calendar as a driver to create your content. You can find templates online or even create your own using Microsoft Excel or Google Spreadsheets. Here is an example of one I created in Google:

You can start making Instagram content by recording yourself doing generic things. Even just taking a walk, making lunch, or getting ready for the day, you should start creating content that applies to your niche. Take long videos, short videos, and even videos you can replay on a loop.

It may feel awkward at first, but recording yourself in your day-to-day is the key to building momentum with content creation! In this health example, a lot of the content I’d be creating is about working out, eating, exercising, or finding ways to inspire my audience.

Talk to the camera, share information about your niche, record yourself using products you’d like to promote, and more! Creating your content is all about getting into the mindset of the person who might purchase your products and finding ways to connect with them!

Additionally, try to create a backlog of content to use. Taking videos of your day-to-day and small, looping videos is a great default when you’ve run out of content for the week but still want to post. Creating a backlog of content to use when you’re running low is SUPER helpful!

In addition to posting the videos you’ve created yourself on reels and shorts, you should repost your videos on your stories to gain more views and traction. You can even link to your products from your stories to help promote your affiliate products.

Example: Here is a great example of a content creator who shared some of her best tips on creating content online!

3) Post Your Videos

At this point, you’ve already decided who you’re talking to, how often you’re posting, and what kind of content you’re creating. From here, you should start posting your videos using trending sounds and text to find your audience and deliver the right message! Play around with the captions, hashtags, and tagging locations until you find the messaging combination that sticks.

A great tool for getting started is to find and save trending sounds and videos. The more you use sounds or create videos that are similar to those that are currently trending, the more you’re able to reach a larger audience!

Some of this information can be established during your research phase, but since trends move so quickly, it’s easier to follow along and post as they come up. That way, you’re staying on top of the trends on the internet which can help bring you more consumers and expand your audience reach.

Since we’re talking about how to make reels for affiliate marketing, it would be an amazing idea to engage with and collaborate with fellow affiliates! You can do this through duets and stitches, which is a great tool to reach more people and even connect with like-minded creators! This will help you connect more with other people’s audiences who may not have otherwise been exposed to your content!

The more you post on social media, the more your followers will grow! Be consistent with your posting and build your community up! It won’t happen overnight, but when you take the steps to post consistently, follow trends, and utilize data to continue to evolve your content, posting schedule, and types of content, you’ll see your success really start to snowball!

Don’t be afraid to experiment here. Social media is sort of like the wild west for content creation and the more you’re willing to try new trends, the more you’re likely to reach your audience. It can feel like a challenge at first, with so much saturation in the content creation world, but keep your head up and keep going strong to build up your followers!

Example: Here is a great example of posting content that is trending and engages with other people within their niche!

4) Engage With Your Community + Build Your Audience

Once you begin posting, make sure to engage with your community! Comment on other people’s videos, have conversations, and reply to comments on your content as well!

This step is one of the most important parts of building out your brand and keeping your content alive and trending. As an affiliate creating content for your business, you have to be able to maintain your image. The more you can keep your brand image up with comments on other people’s posts, re-posting other people’s content, and engaging with the people that comment, like, and follow YOUR content, the more you can build your business as a brand!

Not to mention, when platforms like Instagram and TikTok look at content creators, they’re looking not only at the kind of content you’re creating, but also at the way you interact within the platform. The more you engage with other pages, influencers, and brands, the more the social media platforms will boost your content within other people’s algorithms. They want to see creators who are active on the platform, not just people who post their content and immediately leave!

As an affiliate on the internet, a great way to earn trust and build your business is to continue to engage with your people. Don’t be shy! Chat with people in the comments of your videos. Have fun and enjoy yourself! The more authentic the connection, the better!

5) Monetize With Affiliate Products on Instagram and TikTok

NOW, it’s finally time to start monetizing and making an income with your affiliate products!

By this point, you’ve taken the time to build up your brand as an affiliate, develop your voice as a business, and get ready to start making sales on the product or products you’re promoting. You’ve created your link or links to add to your link-in-bio, with a link to your product that works with your niche.

The next step is easy. Once you’ve taken the time to do your research, create your videos, post on your Instagram and TikTok channels, and engage with your audience, you’re ready to begin making income as an affiliate.

How do you do this? Easy: get your audience to be interested in and purchase your affiliate product. You’ve already established your base audience and now it’s time to begin selling to them and make sales.

The good news is, it’s easy to find products right on ClickBank’s marketplace. If you don’t have an account yet, click here to sign up for free!

Yep, that’s right! In this updated Spark by ClickBank review for 2023, I want to provide context about where the Spark affiliate education platform came from, what it’s all about, who it’s meant to teach, and how it’s evolved since we launched it way back in 2020.

Spark account dashboard

But first, in the spirit of full disclosure, I want to let you know that ClickBank owns and manages the Spark education platform, along with the associated ClickBank Accelerator page builder – and I personally work with the team behind these products.

So, while I’ll do my best to offer an unbiased look at the program, my proximity to Spark is something to keep in mind. Now, let’s dive into the review!

What is ClickBank?

In case you’re unfamiliar with ClickBank, we’re an affiliate marketplace and e-commerce platform that helps connect sellers (i.e. people or brands with products to sell) and affiliates (i.e. marketers looking to promote products).

So, if you’re new to this “affiliate marketing” thing and want to learn how it’s done? That’s where Spark comes in!

What is Spark by ClickBank?

How do Spark and ClickBank work together?

Spark and ClickBank are a powerful combination. ClickBank gives you free access to a wide range of quality affiliate products you can go promote to earn affiliate commissions, and Spark provides the step-by-step education you need to find success.

Where Spark comes in is providing the knowledge and skills you need to place those affiliate links in the right places online! We’ve even broken it out into free traffic vs paid traffic, so you can choose the path that’s best for you. With Spark, you can learn how to be successful with a range of proven approaches to affiliate marketing, including affiliate blogging, paid media, or becoming an influencer.

Ultimately, ClickBank makes it super easy to get credit for the affiliate sales you generate and get paid – and Spark teaches you what you need to know for affiliate success!

Plus, while the principles in Spark can apply to any affiliate marketing or digital marketing endeavor, if you’re wanting to find success on ClickBank specifically, Spark is tailor-made to show you how – and our accompanying landing page builder tool Accelerator will help you execute on your plan.

Another huge benefit of Spark is that it gets frequent updates and enhancements. It’s far from a static product – Spark is truly a dynamic education platform featuring new coursework, quality tools, and a robust community that all evolve as affiliate marketing continues to evolve.

There’s one other standout feature in Spark that you won’t see in most online education products. We’ve designed Spark with five user-friendly formats to cater to various learning preferences:

  • Visual: High-quality videos for those who learn best by watching.
  • Audible: Auditory content for those who prefer to listen and learn.
  • Read: Comprehensive transcripts for those who learn best by reading.
  • Guides: Detailed, step-by-step guides with images, ideal for self-paced learning.
  • Searchable: An efficient search function to find specific content quickly.

Thanks to our experienced instructors (both in-house and outside industry experts), regular updates to the material, high-quality learning resources, and a wonderful range of community and tools, Spark is truly unique in the world of affiliate marketing education.

Spark By ClickBank FAQs

Who is Spark By ClickBank For?

The Spark team eventually wants this education platform to feature content for everyone interested in making money online – from total beginner tutorials all the way up to super advanced tactics – but for now, the focus is primarily on beginners and intermediate affiliates interested in learning affiliate marketing.

How has Spark changed since it first launched?

When we first launched Spark in 2020, the core training called Spark Certification was a primer on affiliate marketing in general, and it featured a small but growing handful of “200” level courses you could get access to. But it didn’t yet have a cohesive path from picking up the basics of affiliate marketing to actually getting your hands dirty with a specific traffic channel that you could build your business around.

Now, we have a strong affiliate foundations course to teach you the ropes, plus two separate tracks for either free traffic or paid traffic methods, and additional courses included covering the most important skills you need to see success.

Spark also comes with a thriving community that will inspire you, hold you accountable, and share new tactics to help you get results!

What is Spark by ClickBank vs ClickBank University?

For a full understanding of Spark By ClickBank, here’s a quick look back at ClickBank’s previous education product, ClickBank University (CBU).

ClickBank University
ClickBank University

The reality is, CBU had a mixed reception, and everyone – including ClickBank – acknowledged it. CBU was a product where we partnered with an outside team, and while it certainly offered value, it felt like too much of a high-pressure sales pitch. We wanted our own education platform to be more informative and useful than CBU.

So, we decided to bring our training program in-house, and launched the new Spark By ClickBank brand.

Is Spark By ClickBank a scam?

Not at all! We have a team of more than 12 dedicated people working hard on the content, the community, and the tools featured inside of Spark. In addition, we’re constantly learning what our students need to be more successful and adding new training every month to make Spark even better.

We encourage you to try it out for yourself and see. Be sure to check the next section of this review below, where we show how real Spark students feel about their experience with Spark.

Is Spark By ClickBank Worth It?

The short answer is yes!

The longer answer is, it depends on where you’re at in your affiliate marketing journey.

I’ve personally been in the affiliate marketing world for nearly five years, and throughout my journey, I’ve read and listened to and watched a LOT of educational marketing content. I’ve also put many of these lessons into practice in my own business. (See more about how I got my first sale on ClickBank.)

The highest compliment I can pay to Spark is the fact that, as Senior Content Strategist at ClickBank and a business owner with my own affiliate website, I still find myself going through Spark materials and taking lots of notes.

So, if I’m learning valuable things from Spark after several years in this industry, then I believe most people will find plenty of value in the program!

What is ClickBank Summit?

Formerly known as Spark Live, ClickBank Summit is an annual virtual event from ClickBank featuring in-house experts at ClickBank and legendary digital marketers and entrepreneurs from around the world. They share their expertise in keynotes, presentations, and live Q&As to help attendees find their online business path.

ClickBank Summit is a one-time event that’s distinct from Spark by ClickBank, but active Spark students are able to attend ClickBank Summit for FREE!

This is a fantastic opportunity you don’t want to miss out on!

What Spark Students Are Saying

We’ve had thousands of Spark students make money on the ClickBank platform after going through our materials.

Below is a small sampling of the positive feedback we’ve seen from real students in Spark and in the Spark Discord Community!

Spark Pros and Cons

Now, the million-dollar question: should YOU become a Spark student?

Here are the biggest pros and cons I could think of about Spark, coming from someone who’s actually gone through most of the course materials to date.

There are probably more pros and cons than just these, but that should give you a sense of whether Spark is a fit for you right now!

Spark By ClickBank Review Wrap-up

Well, that’s all I have for you about Spark right now. I hope this quick Spark by ClickBank review gave you a better understanding of what Spark is all about.

So, what’s the verdict? Should you sign up for Spark?

In my opinion, it is worth a test drive, especially for such a low price for your first month of membership. But even if you aren’t ready to sign up right now, it’s something to think about for the future.

That’s because Spark by ClickBank is still a work in progress… And it always will be!

If you’ve checked out any other prominent reviews of Spark, many reviewers complain about Spark not having enough content or being too basic.

And honestly, they were probably right – based on the version they reviewed in late 2020 or early 2021. But Spark in late 2023 is a far cry from the very first version of Spark, when there wasn’t as much content and before our team got direct feedback from what students wanted and needed to know.

Since then, the product has continued to evolve and improve and deliver incredible value for tens of thousands of students. When Spark started, I think a 2/5 rating would have been fair – today, I would easily give it a 4/5 or higher!

Inside of Spark, you can learn everything you need to start earning affiliate commissions on ClickBank. With a growing selection of in-depth marketing courses, access to ClickBank experts, and a supportive community of fellow students, there’s a LOT to love about Spark by ClickBank right now – and it’s only getting better!

What is CLKBANK*COM: Understanding Charges on Your Credit Card Statement https://www.clickbank.com/blog/what-is-clkbank/ Fri, 11 Aug 2023 14:30:00 +0000 https://www.clickbank.com/?p=31226 What is CLKBANK*COM?

If you see an unknown charge like this from ClickBank appearing as CLKBANK*COM on your bank statement or credit card bill, you purchased a product from a business that uses ClickBank as their payment processor.

And what is ClickBank? ClickBank is a trusted e-commerce platform and marketplace that helps companies and affiliate marketers connect to sell and promote products online to customers like you around the world! (Learn more about ClickBank.)

Now, to identify which specific product you purchased, here are a few quick steps to follow:

1) Use the Order Lookup tool. You can look up your order on ClickBank’s customer service portal here. Just scroll down to the section titled “Order Lookup,” enter your email address and Order Number, and click the “Look Up My Order” button to get all the details about the charge (more on that below).

2) Locate your order confirmation email. Any time you purchase a product that’s processed through ClickBank, you’ll receive an order confirmation email. To find your order confirmation, you can search for “noreply@clickbank.com” or your Order Number in your email inbox. Within the email, you’ll see when the charge was initiated and which product you bought. If it’s not in your primary inbox, don’t forget to check your Spam or Junk folder, just in case.

3) Live chat with customer service. If you’re not having any luck with either of those two options, then please visit the ClickBank customer service portal and hit the “Live Chat Now” button at the top. This will get you in touch with our customer support. It’s very fast – you should get to a live person within a minute.

These are 3 simple steps to help you find out about any CLKBANK*COM charge on your bill. Now that we’ve outlined what to do, let’s dive into each step in more detail!

1) Use the Order Lookup Tool

The only information you need to use the Order Lookup is (1) the email address you entered to make the purchase and (2) the Order Number provided by ClickBank.

To find the Order Number, just look at the charge on your bill or in your confirmation email. In either place, you’ll see a string of letters and numbers after CLKBANK*COM_.

For example:

CLKBANK*COM_F9L3ACXK

In this case, the Order Number would be F9L3ACXK. Simply copy and paste or type the Order Number into the Order Number field, along with your email address in the email address field.

It should look something like this:

Then, hit the “Look Up My Order” button and you’ll receive an email with a direct link to your order so you can verify the charge and see all the details about your purchase.

Here’s an example screenshot of what the receipt looks like after you look up your order:

If you don’t have your email address and Order Number for any reason, then you can try step #2 and locate your order confirmation email.

Or just skip straight ahead and hit the “Live Chat Now” button at the top of the ClickBank order portal to get help from a live ClickBank customer service agent:

2) Locate Your Order Confirmation Email

Secondarily, you can go to your email inbox and type “noreply@clickbank.com” (or type in your Order Number) in the search bar to locate the order confirmation you should have received with a ClickBank purchase.

Here’s an example of what the order confirmation email looks like:

Notice that this email shows you the exact charge that will appear on your bill, including a breakdown of the price, your specific Order Number, the date of purchase, and most importantly, a name and image of the actual product associated with the transaction.

In the example order above, I “purchased” a physical product called Keto Boost+ (3 bottles) for a total price of $134.62 on August 16, 2023. I can see the Order Number for this purchase and compare it to the charge I see on my bill or statement to confirm that the charge is legitimate.

Let’s say I forgot that I ordered this product or I didn’t realize the order was processed through ClickBank. This confirmation email provides me all the information I need to fully understand the charge!

3) Live Chat with Customer Service

If you don’t know how to look up your order or you just want to talk to a person, you can always hit the “Live Chat Now” button at the top of the ClickBank order support portal

As a reminder, it looks like this:

After you initiate a live chat, a little window will pop up and prompt you to provide your email address and Order Number before you speak with an agent. But if you don’t have one or both of these for any reason, you’ll still be able to talk to a person – usually within a minute! Just be sure you’re getting in touch during standard hours of 6 am to 8 pm Mountain time, 7 days a week.

Hopefully, this quick summary has helped you figure out how to understand the charge on your statement or bill. But if you need more information, keep reading – in this article, we’ll go over everything you need to know about ClickBank, CLKBANK, and resolving any issues you have!

What is CLKBANK?

“CLKBANK” is the identifier for a ClickBank charge on your credit card bill, as in the ClickBank transaction example below.

CLKBANK is also the name of the ClickBank order support portal where you can look up your ClickBank order, contact support, update your billing or shipping information, and make any other necessary changes to an order as needed.

Did I Make a ClickBank Purchase?

You may not remember buying anything from ClickBank specifically, but you probably made a recent purchase from a vendor or business who uses ClickBank’s platform to process orders like yours.

Let’s briefly walk through what that looks like. Typically, a company that sells a product through ClickBank will have some kind of sales page talking about the benefits of their product.

If you click the buy button on that page, you’ll be taken to a ClickBank order form, which looks something like this example:

Note the ClickBank logo near the top of this order form, and the ClickBank Guarantee at the bottom of the page here:

Once you check out on this page, you’ll also see a popup notice that tells you the total price of your order, how the order will appear on your statement, and which email address ClickBank sent the receipt to:

Common types of products sold through ClickBank include video courses, ebooks, dietary supplements, and a wide variety of other popular physical and digital products.

That earlier screenshot featured a good example of a ClickBank product – the popular digital yoga exercise program called Yoga Burn – but there are many quality products sold through our platform.

What is ClickBank?

For more context about CLKBANK, it may help to share more about what ClickBank is.

We’re an e-commerce platform and affiliate network that helps brands and companies get their products in front of potential customers just like you!

Compared to online retailers like Amazon or Target, ClickBank.com is NOT a destination for consumers to go directly buy products online. Instead, think of ClickBank as a third-party payment processor that works on behalf of the brand or company you’ve bought a product from to collect funds and helpful fulfill orders – sort of like a Stripe or PayPal.

ClickBank is technically the merchant of record for every product purchased through our platform, which is why CLKBANK may appear on your bill – but it should only show up if you’ve actually bought something from a seller or business who uses ClickBank.

NOTE: ClickBank is a long-standing online marketplace with more than 25 years in business. You can count on us to be reliable and trustworthy!

Why Haven’t I Heard of CLKBANK Before?

“CLKBANK” is simply the transactional representation of ClickBank on your bill or statement.

It’s not exactly a household name, so you likely wouldn’t come across CLKBANK until after you’ve made a purchase powered by the ClickBank platform. And again, even though you’ve technically been charged for your product by ClickBank, you actually bought from one of the many brands or companies whose products are sold through ClickBank’s platform.

Fortunately, you know what CLKBANK is now, so you’ll recognize it when you come across any past or future purchases that run through ClickBank.

How to Recognize a Legitimate CLKBANK Charge

Okay, you know that your CLKBANK charge is most likely a legitimate transaction, but you want to double-check to be sure. Good idea!

To validate a CLKBANK transaction on your bill or statement, we recommend following these 3 simple steps:

  1. Match the date of the charge with any online purchases you’ve recently made.
  2. Check for email confirmations or receipts from ClickBank.
  3. Review the product or service name alongside the charge.

Order Lookup for ClickBank Products

You can also validate that your order is legitimate by looking it up in the CLKBANK order portal.

First of all, if you’re a repeat ClickBank customer, you can go ahead and create an account on the CLKBANK portal. This will allow you to log in and view your order history directly.

But if you’d rather just look up an individual order, CLKBANK has an “Order Lookup” feature that we’ll walk you through here.

If you have the email address you used to buy the product and an Order Number sent to you from ClickBank post-purchase, then you can easily look up your order with that information.

Otherwise, you’ll need that email address and either your zip code or the last four digits of the card you used to make the purchase. Then, you’ll be able to see an order history associated with that email by entering the verification code or clicking the link in the follow-up email you get after hitting the “Look Up My Order” button.

If you have any questions or concerns about a CLKBANK charge, don’t hesitate to call or visit CLKBANK.com. Another great way to get in touch is with a live chat with our support team during standard hours of operation. Just hit the “Live Chat Now” button at the top of the ClickBank order support portal at CLKBANK.com.

Is CLKBANK a scam?

Absolutely not! Just because you may not immediately recognize “CLKBANK” on your statement doesn’t mean fraudulent activity has occurred. It’s good to be vigilant, but you should also be informed.

Here at ClickBank, we pride ourselves on rigorous security measures to avoid fraud and transparency in the way we process transactions. You can be highly confident that you were charged for a legitimate purchase you initiated online.

What if this really is fraud?

ClickBank has a dedicated risk & compliance department to ensure anyone who sells products through our platform is a good actor. We also deploy sophisticated fraud detection tools and verify shipping addresses to ensure all charges are legitimate. In the very rare case that a fraudulent charge has occurred, you should reach out to customer support to resolve the issue.

But in all likelihood, you simply initiated a purchase online and didn’t realize it would show up as a charge from ClickBank on your statement. If that’s the case, please use Order Lookup, check your order confirmation email, or start a live chat with our support team to validate the charge and resolve any issue you may have!

CLKBANK Wrap-up

ClickBank is committed to transparency, customer satisfaction, and security. We encourage you to always keep an eye on your statements and be on the lookout for unfamiliar charges – but keep in mind that not every unfamiliar charge signifies something fraudulent.

To look up your order(s) or reach out with questions or concerns, please visit our order portal at CLKBANK.com or call us at (800) 390-6035.

Using LSI in SEO: How to Drive Sales With Latent Semantic Indexing https://www.clickbank.com/blog/lsi-in-seo/ Fri, 18 Jun 2021 12:03:00 +0000 https://www.clickbank.com/?p=11314 Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) – also known as latent semantic analysis – is a technical process that can help to classify and retrieve information on specific terms and concepts.

But let’s be real here: As a vendor or affiliate marketer, what YOU care about is getting more organic traffic to drive more sales and make more money online!

Fortunately, using LSI in SEO can make a huge difference for your content’s ranking. It all starts with recognising and including the LSI keywords related to the search term you’re targeting on your website.

[hubspot portal=”5154711″ id=”7642b9fe-5d46-49e7-aa54-737c33f9221c” type=”form”]

LSI keywords are similar keywords within your content that signal the relevance of your topic or theme and, in turn, boost your overall SEO performance.

If you end up ranking for one keyword, the likelihood of ranking for related terms seems fairly reasonable – but this isn’t necessarily the case, and there are differing opinions on how much LSI can really boost your content in organic search.

Search engines like Google have become increasingly intelligent when it comes to the various factors that can influence your ranking in the SERPs. In fact, nothing 100% guarantees that latent semantic indexing has anything to do with the way Google’s algorithms determine what content is relevant and what isn’t (though it seems likely that it’s at least partially relevant).

But before we dig deeper into the true power of LSI and how to harness its power for your ecommerce store or affiliate site, let’s take a moment to explore what it is exactly and how it’s relevant to content creation!

What is Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI)?

Latent semantic indexing utilises natural language processing (NLP) to help search engines figure out which content is relevant for specific queries.

For instance, you run a search for ‘tennis shoes.’ While these two words will return different results when searched individually, the semantics change when they’re combined. So, how does a search engine know to return the right sneakers in its results, rather than information related to tennis or more formal shoes?

example of lsi in seo

Google uses LSI keywords to understand the context of pages containing the words ‘tennis shoes’ to provide more relevant results. Results containing this term are also likely to feature LSI phrases like ‘trainers,’ ‘sneakers,’ and ‘sports shoes’ – enabling the search engine to pick out the most relevant pages based on the most likely search intent.

For companies aiming to ramp up their marketing efforts, LSI keywords should be regarded as essential practice within any content strategy.

keyword research diagram with related search terms

(Image: WordStream)

In the diagram above, we can see how Google’s crawlers identifies the wider context of pages through LSI, with context-generating buzzwords highlighted for the purpose of better categorisation.

Content that’s created with LSI in mind can make searches for company products and services more effective and productive for users. This can help to position your brand as a go-to resource for individuals looking for the best and most reliable solution to their queries or the product searches.

Why Latent Semantic Indexing is Vital to SEO

As it was still developing into the all-encompassing online entity we know it as today, Google recognised that early search engines were ranking websites based on the frequency of certain keywords. However, this system doesn’t guarantee the most relevant search results. Instead, Google chose to rank websites based on more tangible metrics surrounding the wider context of content and the trustworthiness of the publishers.

Google’s algorithms evolved to filter out irrelevant or poor quality matches with greater degrees of success over recent years, helping marketers to better understand how to rank for more relevant searches, rather than simply stuffing content with specific keywords.

To further elaborate on how Google views various forms of searches, the search engine giants maintain a document called Search Quality Evaluator Guidelines, which detail various forms of user intent:

  • Know queries represent the pursuit of information surrounding a specific topic. This also features a subset known as the ‘know simple’ query – which occurs when users are running a search with a single specific answer in mind.
  • Do queries revolve around the user’s intentions for engaging in a certain activity like an online purchase or software download.
  • Website queries refer to when users are searching with the intention of finding a specific website or webpage. These searches typically involve some form of pre-existing awareness for a company or its website.
  • Visit-in-person queries relate to when a user is searching for a geographical location with the intention of visiting – like a local branch of a bank or a certain type of restaurant.

By enabling their algorithms to interpret the LSI context behind certain search terms and the type of search being carried out, Google was able to gain a competitive advantage over its competitors and produce a more relevant range of results to aid the convenience of its users.

How to Use LSI in SEO to Your Advantage

Because context matters when it comes to producing content that can be crawled and categorised appropriately by Google, it’s worth taking the time to explore the relevant LSI keywords that you can add to your content.

There are insights you can gain into which terms will add context to the content that you produce.

Google's autocomplete can suggest LSI keywords

(Image: Keyword Tool Dominator)

One of the best ways to anticipate what Google is looking for within your content is to go directly to the search engine and explore its autocomplete function. In the example above, we can see the sort of things that Google associates with the term ‘best cell phone that…,’ helping to inspire some ideas on how best to rank for relevant searches.

LSI Graph can help with LSI keyword research
LSI Graph is a tool that can help with LSI keyword research.

There are other dedicated platforms that offer more comprehensive overviews of LSI keywords and their respective search volume. In the example above, we can see how the LSI Graph platform helps to automatically generate latent semantic indexing terms to support our ‘tennis shoes’ content.

By throwing up broader terms and their associated search volume and cost-per-click, we can gain a deeper insight into which words are the most valuable to include within your content.

Another simple giveaway as to what potential LSI keywords to include in your content can be found in Google’s ‘searches related to’ section, which is displayed within query results pages.

Google related searches feature can recommend additional keywords to include in SEO content

Again, this helps content creators and marketers to better understand how Google utilises search terms in order to deliver relevant results. If you happen to be preparing an article surrounding tennis shoes, the example above shows that brands like Adidas, Nike and Asics are heavily associated with the product, while Google attributes terms like ‘women’s tennis shoes’ and ‘tennis shoes ladies’ as a significant indicator of search intent.

Make SEO Tools Your Friend

Although there are some great free techniques to help you to identify some strong LSI keywords, you can bolster your efficiency in spotting the right terms to suit your content by enlisting the help of more premium SEO tools and platforms.

There are few better tools out there than Ahrefs and SEMRush when it comes to helping your search engine optimisation efforts, and both tools can be excellent in helping you to find and use LSI keywords.

Ahrefs keyword tool
Use Ahrefs keyword tools to find LSI keywords.

As we can see from the image above, Ahrefs offers a comprehensive overview of the keywords you’re aiming to rank for – including its search volume and estimated cost-per-click.

Significantly, Ahrefs also provides a ‘keyword difficulty’ score out of 100, which helps businesses to better understand what’s needed for them to rank efficiently for specific terms. In the case of our example, Ahrefs estimates that we would need backlinks from around 40 websites in order to rank in Google’s top 10 SERPs – so there’s a lot of work to do.

On the left-hand menu of Ahrefs’ keyword explorer, we can see a ‘search suggestions’ option. By clicking this, we can see a host of LSI keywords connected to the topic, all with their own colour-coded keyword difficulty. This is highly important in clarifying which terms your business can enter into the top 10 SERPs for, and whether such terms attract a larger level of search volume along the way.

For instance, the search suggestion above shows that the LSI keyword ‘tennis shoes nike’ has a relatively easy keyword difficulty of 9 – meaning that websites would only need around 10 backlinks to rank in the top 10 SERPs. With data suggesting that this keyword attracts an average of 1,200 clicks per month, it could be a great way for businesses to draw in a steady stream of traffic.

Keyword ideas from Ahrefs

Ahrefs also offers up further keyword ideas and an estimated cost-per-click for the benefit of advertisers and budgeting. Metrics available can tell websites where global search volumes come from, which can play a key role in helping businesses to understand what audiences they’re marketing to.

It’s also worth businesses paying attention to the ‘also talk about’ table to the bottom-right of the image above, which displays other keywords which aren’t semantically linked to the terms that you’re hoping to rank for but are connotatively linked. This can make for a great source of inspiration for content creators.

SEMrush related keywords report
The Related Keywords report in SEMrush can suggest latent semantic indexing keywords.

(Image: E2M)

SEMRush also has a great system that enables users to enter a keyword and search for LSI keywords in the ‘related keywords’ section of the platform. Once these keywords are identified, the next step is to choose the most relevant keywords to suit your content.

Both tools painstakingly work to colour-coordinate your content to ensure that picking up the right LSI keywords for your content is as simple as possible.

While these are premium tools, they can certainly be a valuable asset in making the identification of LSI keywords as quick and easy as possible.

Don’t Limit Yourself to LSI Keywords Synonyms

As you become more proficient at finding valuable LSI keywords, bear in mind that you’re not simply looking for synonyms alone. It’s vital that you should also seek to spot related terms, phrases and buzzwords. By adopting this mindset, you can operate by optimising the most valuable terms associated with your keywords and find much greater contextual relevance.

For instance, if you were looking to target the keyword ‘best tennis shoes,’ you wouldn’t simply look to utilise synonyms like ‘high quality sneakers’ or ‘great trainers.’ The best practice here is to build a list of related and relevant terms that emanate from the concept. These related terms can revolve around what exactly makes tennis shoes ‘great’ in the minds of customers. Focus on ‘high-performance tennis shoes’ or ‘value for money trainers’ as well as focusing on the various types of tennis shoes and their use cases – whether users want to buy them for sport or for fashion.

Contextual awareness of your product is essential here, and you’ll likely already have a strong idea of the sort of customers you want to attract. To continue with the tennis shoes analogy, we can consider the type of business you are. You may be a shoe shop, a sports shop, or a fashion retailer. Your business model will be a strong indicator as to how you can utilise the right terms as LSI keywords to accompany your copy.

Using On Page Optimisation Tools to Pick Keywords for Google

To help you get the most mileage out of your content – and maximise your odds of ranking – there are a handful of on-page optimisation tools that streamline this whole process. Whether you’re using Surfer SEO, Frase, MarketMuse, or PageOptimizer Pro, the process for incorporating LSI keywords is similar across any on page optimisation tool:

  1. Pick a blog topic and primary search term and start a new page within the tool.
  2. Wait while the tool evaluates all of the top competitors whose content is currently ranking in the top of Google (typically focused on just the first 10-20 positions).
  3. Write content in the tool’s content editor while incorporating recommended keywords from the tool.
  4. Add different LSI keywords until you have an optimal frequency for the suggested word count.
On Page Optimisation tool can help suggest
Example of On Page Optimisation Tool PageOptimizer Pro, used to optimise this “LSI in SEO” post.

This isn’t an exact science by any means, but on page optimisation tools go farther than a tool like Ahrefs – rather than simply suggesting some keywords you can include, a tool like Surfer will actively compare your current content against the target you’re aiming for.

Not only does it tell you which keywords you should include, it also tells you where – like in the subheads versus body of the post – and suggests an upper limit to avoid keyword stuffing.

Monitoring LSI Performance in Your Content

Google’s algorithms are profoundly tricky for marketers to understand, which makes the production of content difficult to master. Stuffing your text with keywords is a sure fire way of devaluing your content – particularly when you neglect the quality of your work for the quantity of more relevant words. However, incorporating relevant LSI keywords can be great for adding vital context to for Google to better understand and categorise your content.

For this, it may be worth utilising the help of analytical tools like Google Analytics or Finteza, which can help users to comprehensively monitor how their pages perform in terms of attracting and retaining traffic.

AUdience Insights from Fineza for monitoring page performance.
Audience Insights from Finteza for monitoring page performance.

Audience insights like the one provided by Finteza in the image above can tell users a wealth of information surrounding how visitors interact with specific landing pages, how long they stay engaging with content and how they move through your site.

By varying your approach to LSI keywords within your content you can quickly determine which texts are performing better than others and work to refine your approach in a more efficient way.

Although Google’s SERPs can be tricky to master, latent semantic indexing can play a key role in ensuring that your content is displayed to the right audience in the most helpful way. In this regard, building better contexts for your content can pave the way for greater prominence.

Learn How to Use ClickBank With Spark https://www.clickbank.com/blog/learn-how-to-use-clickbank-with-spark/ Mon, 23 Nov 2020 22:18:55 +0000 https://www.clickbank.com/?p=10335 ClickBank has debuted the first and only ClickBank-sponsored education platform, Spark. Spark is a robust opportunity geared towards affiliate marketers of all levels. Read on to find out more about how Spark can help you learn how to use ClickBank and jumpstart your digital marketing career.

[hubspot portal=”5154711″ id=”7642b9fe-5d46-49e7-aa54-737c33f9221c” type=”form”]

While you may run into internet content claiming that affiliate marketing is easy (i.e. “How I made $2,000 in 3 hours with this affiliate marketing trick!”) the truth is, there is a learning curve. While ClickBank has always been candid about the time and effort it takes to earn a living as an affiliate marketer, we also want to acknowledge that it’s not the simplest thing to do on your own. With so much information out there, parsing through it all can be frustrating and overwhelming.

It Starts With the Learner

So, a team of ClickBank experts got together and decided to make learning how to use ClickBank more straightforward. According to ClickBank Marketing Manager, Brett Chesney, the idea started with the learner in mind:

“Even from its earliest inception we wanted to design a growth platform that not only provided students best-in-class training on becoming successful product creators and affiliate marketers, but also gave them the building blocks that are needed before that.

The end result is an all-encompassing training program. We guide you through things like important industry concepts and terms; the psychology behind why direct response marketing works (and will always work!); how to write killer ad copy; and we even get a little zen and explore powerful ways each of us can tap into our own passions to help fuel our future success.”

Build Blocks for a Firm Foundation

By focusing on the building blocks of affiliate marketing, Spark ensures a strong foundation of best practices for affiliate marketers of all skills levels who want to learn how to use ClickBank. It doesn’t hurt that the education platform is designed, driven, and engineered by ClickBank experts.

ClickBank Director of Content, Taylor Utt, says it the best:

“The curriculum was designed through a combination of smart minds and proven leaders throughout our industry. Between our marketing and sales teams, compliance and fraud, as well as solopreneurs who have made the journey themselves, we carefully weighed each area of expertise and crafted a curriculum that touches all of the pain points a newcomer might face.”

Get Your First Paycheck Faster

One of the most fundamental things that sets Spark apart from all of the other digital advertising learning resources is that it is rooted in actual education. With the help of adult education experts, the ClickBank team designed courses that teach real skills in a very real way. Taylor chalks it up to the cutting-edge tools Spark offers:

Spark not only provides the education needed to get started, but supplies marketers with actual tools and strategies that are used in the industry today. Most online education classes talk in terms of hypotheticals or long winded stories. Spark gives marketers the tools and resources needed from day one.”

Just Like Rome…

Spark definitely wasn’t built in one day. Like all projects worth doing, Spark had to go from inception, to conception, to creation. Even with 22 years of experience, and a team with robust and adept skill sets, getting it all from paper to production didn’t happen without a lot of hard work. For Brett, the process was well worth the experience:

“Anyone who has ever launched a product at this scale can attest to the sheer amount of moving pieces necessary to create something people will not only find continued value in, but something they’ll want to tell all their friends about. From branding and colors, to editing and content creation, website design, engineering and extensive Q&A… The journey from what was just an idea with a few words on a piece of A4 paper to the experience that it is today was equal parts challenging and equal parts rich and rewarding.”

Who is Spark For?

Now that the building is done and Spark is on the market… you might be wondering, “Is Spark for me?” The short answer and only answer is:

Yes.

Spark is the only ClickBank-endorsed learning platform on the web. You may know some things about digital marketing, but if you truly want to learn how to use ClickBank, Spark is the answer.
